Network Update
Some publishers to see changes in their ads
We’ve been doing some tinkering under the bonnet recently, so some of you may notice a few changes in your ads. The changes you’re likely to see include the removal of ellipses (…) and truncated words, the inclusion of 40-character titles on certain ad units, and a change in the number of ads displayed on certain ad layouts.
These enhancements have to do with our efforts to upgrade our contextual advertising product, and in the coming weeks will take effect across the entire network. They come in response to your feedback and should, in the long run, help enhance your account performance. We’ll share more details with you as they become available.

This worries me. Tinkering with Text styles and fonts is not an UPDATE. The ad targeting is still not able to over ride “suggested targeting” with better results. After almost a year now we are still running for the most part general ads. When My Adwords account can deliver a 12-14% clickthrough to the Yahoo’s 2% maybe just parsing the refering url for keywords would be a simple enough improvementment to allow better targeting. That doesn’t appear to be happening at this time.
I have stated many times to the Yahoo team. “its beta” is not an excuse to ignore failure’s to achieve quality results.
Not that the box doesn’t need some tweaking just saying “is this the real priority”
Nikon would like to buy advertising on my site, Kawasaki, Ford Trucks. They still can’t do that from Overture system or through a referring url.
I am just afraid the Yahoo team is “blaming fonts” for poor performance versus the applications ability to cross reference search, content and desire of the reader.

[…] In response to slower revenue coming out of their Ad services, Yahoo has upgraded their YPN (Yahoo Publisher Network) software to include faster loading times and better visual formatting. And in response to the increased demand for social media services and localized search, it looks like Yahoo Local got an upgrade as well. Cool stuff. […]
