Are we witnessing “the dawn of blogosphere-dominant media?” Forbes ASAP editor, Michael S. Malone, thinks so. Says Malone: “Five years from now, the blogosphere will have developed into a powerful economic engine that has all but driven newspapers into oblivion.” But the Financial Times thinks reports of the death of dead tree media are greatly exaggerated. Perhaps well respected experts in a given field will create their own blogs and sell advertising. This may hurt trade periodicals somewhat - but -
this allows a less mainstream more focussed sector to communicate with others with similar tastes and backgrounds.
While the mainstream will continue to be satisfied with the offerings of the very competative popular newspapers, and media.
